At Swift, training for your CDL takes as little as four weeks – from beginning your training to receiving your license.
Notice: To prevent the contamination and spread of COVID-19, we’ve included a number of onboarding driver precautions, visit our COVID-19 resource page for more information.
HOW OUR CDL TRAINING COSTS WORK
Swift Academy provides low-cost CDL training through a tuition-assistance program that allows you to earn your Class A CDL with little to no upfront costs1, aside from the fee for your permit and license and daily incidentals, like food. Your education, books, hotel, and transportation costs are covered when you sign Swift’s financial agreement, and agree to drive for Swift for 26 months after receiving your license. Plus, you'll be paid while driving with a mentor2. (And, if you're coming to Swift from another CDL training program, we even have a tuition reimbursement program3 for you.)
VETERAN'S TRAINING PROGRAM
For those who have served our country, we want you to know we're here for you. With our scholarship program for military veterans, you and your spouse or dependent can receive a full scholarship4 to the Swift Academy. And after you've earned your Class A CDL, you can take part in our nationally approved Military Apprenticeship Program, which can give you even greater financial rewards as you embark on your journey with Swift.
CVTA Recognition
Swift Academy is recognized by the Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA).
What this means for you is that you’ll not only get low-cost training for your CDL, but you’ll also get an education that's recognized by the largest association representing commercial truck driver training programs– and among the best CDL training in the country.
To get started, find a Swift Academy near you – and discover how rewarding a career at Swift can be.
1 Out-of-pocket costs to the Swift Academy include: permit and license fees (vary by state), food, and incidentals.
2 New Swift Academy graduates will be required to drive with a mentor for up to 300 hours. Drivers with verifiable experience elsewhere may drive with a mentor for less time. The length of time any driver is required to drive with a mentor is determined on a case-by-case basis.
3 If you attend a third-party school for your Class A CDL, Swift has a tuition reimbursement program. Call a Swift Recruiter for more information.
4 The Swift Military Scholarship covers the cost of tuition and applicable housing costs if the beneficiary meets the 1-year (12 months) of service from solo date as an active full-time company driver.
